Apple has indicated that it plans to address the iPhone 13 repair situation in a future iOS update. However, no further details have been released.
Apple Broken iPhone 13 Screen Repairs
There’s been a lot of criticism surrounding the iPhone 13’s tendency to disable FaceID when a third-party screen is replaced. So much so that it appears Apple has since come around to the idea, saying a fix is planned for sometime in the future.
According to The Register, Apple has stated that it will update iOS to allow for iPhone 13 screen replacements without the risk of a FaceID lockout. However, it has not yet provided any additional details or an estimated date for this proposed update.
This also presents a bit of a dilemma for current iPhone 13 users and third-party repair companies, as the FaceID issue will persist until this update rolls out.
