Apple has an unacceptable amount of malware on Mac devices by Apple standards, according to Apple's chief software officer.
Are Macs REALLY more secure?
CNBC reports that Craig Federighi discussed Mac malware during a court hearing on Wednesday for the Epic Games v. Apple lawsuit. Federighi said the tech giant isn’t happy with the amount of malware that exists on macOS, as far as the company itself anticipates.
“Today on the Mac we have a level of malware that we find unacceptable and it is much worse than on iOS,” Federighi said in his court testimony.
According to CNBC, Apple found and removed about 130 different types of malware on Mac devices last year.
