The news is starting to pour in from Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where the company announced a number of new features coming to the upcoming iOS 16.

Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering, took the stage at WWDC to demonstrate some of the unique features of the new lock screen coming with iOS 16. Federighi called it the biggest lock screen update in the company's history.
It's really different, with a ton of new features that make for a highly customizable experience for iPhone users.
First, you can edit various parameters of the photos that populate the lock screen, with depth-of-field mechanics, new backgrounds, and the ability to move your subjects around the lock screen. The subjects in your photos can also be manipulated via a layering tool that allows them to rest behind a clock, for example.
