Apple is working on a 32-inch iMac and it could be the perfect way to return to a single computer that the whole family shares.
32 inch iMac Pro Release Date – The BIG iMac IS COMING BACK!!
More and more people are using a phone as their main computer, and if we have a Mac or a PC, it's probably a laptop. And yet there's still room for a "family" computer with a big screen, even if you don't have a family. And as we'll see, in many ways it actually makes more sense to share one big machine than to buy a bunch of computers that don't get used that much.
"A 32-inch iMac could easily find a niche as a family workhorse and entertainment center. While phones and tablets can do a lot, sometimes you just need the full keyboard and functionality of a PC. Integration with Apple's photo and other media services could be a great way to watch shows in common spaces like the kitchen or family room, share family photos, or do some heavy-duty creative stuff with sound mixing or visual arts apps," Troy Portillo, COO at online learning platform Studypool, told Lifewire via email.
Years ago, if a household had a computer, it was one desktop Mac or PC that was shared by everyone in the house. These days, for many people, the phone is the primary device for communicating, browsing, shopping, work conversations, and even some writing, especially email. But the small screen isn’t great for everything, and that’s when we typically turn to a laptop, even if we’re only using that laptop to do Excel at the dinner table, watch movies on the couch, or Zoom and FaceTime with colleagues and family.
