Apple’s Magic Keyboards with Touch ID, originally available only on M1 Macs, are now available for purchase separately, starting at $149 for the base model.
Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Review
If you’ve been wanting a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID for your Mac but don’t want to buy a whole computer, now’s your chance. Apple has made both the regular version and the numeric keypad model available for purchase separately for $149 and $179, respectively.
There are a few things to keep in mind when buying a Magic Keyboard, though. First, there are no additional color options available, so you can only get it in the standard Apple metallic/silver.
Second, the Touch ID feature only works with M1 Macs. If you have an older computer, you may want to look at the standard and numeric models that don’t have Touch ID.
