Apple on Tuesday announced details about its new iPad mini, which will be released next week and is available to order now starting at $499.
How Apple is going to make iPads AWESOME AGAIN!
The announcement came as part of Apple’s big event, where the company unveiled the new and improved tablet. The new model has been completely redesigned, with a larger 8.3-inch liquid retina display and a thinner frame, but retains the same footprint as the previous model. And of course, it comes with iPad OS 15 installed.
Apple claims the new iPad mini will improve CPU performance by up to 40% and GPU throughput by up to 80%. The company also says neural engine performance will be up to twice as fast as the previous generation. And the new iPad mini will support the second-generation Apple Pencil.
Other hardware changes include 5G integration for download speeds of up to 3.5GB per second and a USB-C port. A new speaker system is said to deliver better audio, and the TouchID functionality has been moved to the top button to accommodate the new screen design.
