The Apple Watch is very useful for tracking activity and exercise, and with this upcoming update it will gain even more useful features.
WatchOS 11: Best New Apple Watch Features to Try
WWDC 2024 brought all sorts of exciting announcements, like new Apple Intelligence coming to all Apple devices, news of the iOS 18 update, and even Home and Audio improvements on the way. But it’s the watchOS 11 updates that will have the most impact on your activity levels.
Apple watchOS 11 is bringing a bunch of new features, including a new Vitals app and more ways to personalize your watch. Perhaps the most exciting news to come out is the Vitals app, which collects your health stats and then analyzes them to give you a look at your daily trends. The app gets a baseline, and when two or more of the metrics it’s tracking are out of sync, you’ll get a notification explaining what might be impacting those stats.
WatchOS 11 also gains a Training Load metric. This metric uses trended data from your watch over a 7-day period to determine the demand your workouts are having on your body compared to the previous 28 days. According to Apple, it’s a great way for athletes to track their training progress over time.
