For iPad Pro users, not having to deal with tangled power cords will likely be a thing of the past next year, as Bloomberg reports that the upcoming 2022 model will feature wireless charging.
How Apple is going to make iPads AWESOME AGAIN!
This new model will ditch the aluminum chassis and instead use a glass back, which will be crucial for enabling wireless charging. Users will be able to skip the usual charging cables and instead, it is expected, place the new iPad Pro on a MagSafe charger. The wireless charging process may take a bit longer for the iPad compared to the iPhone, however.
Additionally, Apple is reportedly trying to make the iPad Pro itself function as a wireless charging pad. It's a concept that Apple has tried to integrate into the iPhone before, but this would be a first for the iPad. This "reverse wireless charging" would mean that users could use their iPad Pro as their own induction mat, charging their devices by placing them on the back of their tablet.
At the moment, the concept of an iPad Pro with wireless charging is still in the development stages, meaning there's a chance the feature could be scrapped for a number of reasons. However, wireless charging or not, the next-generation iPad Pro is expected to launch in 2022. No additional pricing or specs details are available at this time.
