Assassin's Creed – The best order to play the games in 2023
Now let's take a look at all the AC games in order of release date:
Although the first Assassin's Creed game was released in 2007, it is not the first origin story, according to AC lore. The main sub-story tells of the Precursor race known as the Isu who created the Apple of Eden artifacts in order to control the human race as their slaves. This was successful until Adam and Eve stole one of the artifacts and started a rebellion against the Isu. The war between the two races continued until Earth was hit by a massive solar flare around 75,000 BCE.
Today we know this day as the day of the Toba Catastrophe, which wiped out most of the Isu, leaving only a handful of the human race behind. The millennia passed until some of the Isu (to avoid more in-game spoilers here) began to indirectly control humans, leading to the Order of the Ancients. They were the successors of the Children of Cain who tried to control humanity with the Pieces of Eden. The only two groups that fought against this world domination were the Babylonian Iltani's Order and the Persian elite group of Artabanus. Until the last Medjay, Bayek of Siwa and Aya of Alexandria founded the Hidden Ones in 47 BC. Thus began the Assassin Brotherhood to save humanity from slavery by fighting the Templars for free will and freedom. Now that you've caught up on the beginnings of the Assassin Order, let's look at the games chronologically from here.
