We purchased the Asus VG245H 24-inch monitor so that our expert reviewer could thoroughly test and review it. Read on for our full product review.
Over the past few years, more and more computer monitors have been equipped with FreeSync technology, but it takes more than a variable refresh rate to make a good gaming monitor. The Asus VG245H looks to have several features that will deliver a next-level gaming experience. I put the VG245H to the test, evaluating its design, image quality, and more to see how it performs as a budget gaming monitor.
The VG245 is black with small blue highlights on the base. On the back of the monitor is a line pattern that gives the VG245 a spaceship feel. The base design is exceptional and it is connected to a long arm, which in turn is connected to the monitor.
Ergonomics are important for the best computer monitors. The VG245 is height adjustable, allowing you to raise or lower it by approximately 130mm (5 inches). The stand is rotatable, making it easy to point the screen at another player if you’re swapping the controller with someone sitting next to you. One of the best design features is the ability to swivel, allowing you to completely change the orientation of the monitor from landscape to portrait. Plus, despite all of these adjustments, the monitor never feels wobbly or unstable: the plastic back and base are very sturdy. The stand even has a recess where you can tuck your cables into for a cleaner look. However, when you have all those cables stuffed into the stand, it becomes more difficult to rotate between portrait and landscape. If you leave your cables untied, you can rotate the monitor without unplugging anything.
