Patch 14.14 for League of Legends could shake up the meta. Aurelion Sol is the next to see changes.
RIOT, RETURN OF AURELION SOL…
The League mid laner has been a popular pick in Season 14 after his rework. While Aurelion Sol’s win rate isn’t anything to write home about in Patch 14.13, he’s getting some major changes in the upcoming update. Riot Games is taking some power away from his Q, but is compensating by buffing other abilities.
On July 10, Matt "Phroxzon" Leung-Harrison posted a list of changes for Patch 14.14. The most notable is that Aurelion Sol's Q will have increased mana costs at various stages of the game. Since the ability is his main tool in the laning phase, it's a substantial hit to the champion in the early to mid game. However, he's getting minor buffs to other parts of his kit.
Riot is improving the range of Aurelion Sol’s W, lowering the mana cost of his E, and slightly increasing the damage of his ultimate. However, the latter will have a 10 percent lower AP multiplier and will deal slightly less damage on a fully charged The Skies Descend. While these changes probably won’t be enough to give him a better win rate, they could bring the champion into balance.
