A handy benefit of an Office 365 subscription
OneDrive: Automatic backup of desktop etc.
When you subscribe to Microsoft’s Office 365 subscription, you get access to a whole range of programs that go beyond apps like Word or Excel. One of the most useful services is OneDrive. A bit like DropBox or Google Drive, OneDrive gives you significant online storage space.
OneDrive is more than just a big flash drive on the web, though, Microsoft has built some pretty nifty features into it. One of the most recent and significant changes is the ability to turn on automatic syncing for certain “important” Windows folders. This provides an easy way to ensure that your most important information is always safely backed up to the cloud.
This feature was originally only available to OneDrive for Business users, but now it’s available to everyone. By default, it’s set to back up your Documents, Pictures, and Desktop folders, which can’t be changed at this time. Unlike DropBox, you also can’t back up every possible file type.
