Dr Disrespect is already planning a comeback on streaming platforms, just weeks after admitting to messaging a minor and disappearing from the internet. The disgraced content creator told fans today that he will "be back soon".
Is Dr. Disrespect trying to make a comeback after admitting to texting a minor?
"Vacation is just too good right now… We'll be back soon but Champs. We have a lot to talk about," the streamer wrote on X (formerly Twitter) alongside the phrase "Yayaya" that normally stands for laughter. At the same time, Dr Disrespect appears to have retracted the apology he shared in June, in which he admitted to sending messages "bordering on inappropriate" to an "individual minor" via Twitch whispers.
This comeback plan comes less than a month after the 42-year-old posted a mysterious image of himself playing chess against an unseen opponent competing with checkers (contrary to an initial apology, this July image has not been removed). He was widely criticized for the post at the time, but the fan backlash does not appear to have derailed his plans in any significant way.
Likewise, streaming fans are voicing their biggest concerns about the duo's now-impending return. Some called for YouTube, where Dr Disrespect is set to return, to "protect the kids," while others suggested that "no one needs the return arc."
