It’s no secret that we love our Backbone gaming controllers, but it was a bit of a bummer that we had to buy one to play on Android and another to play on iPhone (because of the Lightning cable). Now we don’t have to worry about such fooferah anymore!
Backbone One 2nd Gen Review – Now Compatible with iPhone 15 (USB-C Version)
Backbone has solved it all and released one mobile controller to rule them all: the new USB-C Backbone. It also comes in two styles. There’s a white PlayStation-esque controller and a black one for all you hardcore Xbox players (or anyone who thinks white is too Apple for them).
It’s not just the connector that’s different. The Backbone has magnetic adapters to better fit your phone into the controller’s comfortable embrace, a reshaped D-pad for more responsiveness, and a redesigned Backbone app that can put all your gaming experiences in one place.
But wait, there’s more! Backbone has also released two new carrying cases for its gaming controllers, one for each color. The case will also work with your old Backbone, so if you’re still carrying one, you can also pick up a case in black or PlayStation-branded white.
