While you find the cure to remove the parasite, you must choose to heal yourself or Lae'zel in Baldur's Gate 3 using the Githyanki Zaith'isk creche. As you progress through the Find a Cure quest, Ghustil Stornugoss, a Githyanki healer, suggests that you can remove the parasites by sitting in the Zaith'isk device. Though it seems dangerous, Lae'zel volunteers to be healed first due to her Githyanki birth and strong roots. But should you heal yourself or heal Lae'zel in BG3 with the Githyanki Zaith'isk device? And what are the consequences of choosing either way? Check out our guide to learn what is the right choice between healing yourself and healing Lae'zel.
Heal Thyself vs. Heal Laezel – Githyanki Zaith'isk Device | Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3)
Instead of healing Lae'zel, a better option is to heal yourself in Baldur's Gate 3 with the Githyanki Zaith'isk creche. This is because you gain an Awakened buff with the best Illithid powers. However, if you do choose to heal Lae'zel in BG3, she gains a Zaith'isk debuff which lowers three of her random stats for the rest of the game.
To keep it short, the Githyanki Zaith'isk nursery will fail to heal and extract the Parasite in BG3 no matter who goes there first. Lae'zel, though she may be a bit belligerent, will approve of you even if you decide to heal yourself by going first. To do so, choose the option, “You would hunt for this place without my guidance. I will be healed first.” Likewise, you will instantly get approval from Lae'zel if you allow her to use the Githyanki Zaith'isk nursery.
Once you or Lae'zel use the Zaith'isk device, you will be warned by the Dream Visitor to get out. At this point, you have three attempts to remove yourself or Lae'zel from the machine. If you choose to heal Lae'zel, you must succeed with a DC30 check to save her from being killed by the Zaith'isk. Fortunately, if you choose to heal yourself, you only need a DC21 Arcana check to get out of the machine. Eventually, the machine will destroy itself if you fail to cure the parasite that was lodged in your or Lae'zel's head in Baldur's Gate 3.
