The Shadow Cursed Lands are home to many different quests in Baldur's Gate 3. But one of the area's strangest inhabitants is a child named Oliver – and you'll have to defeat him in a classic game of hide-and-seek to earn a powerful reward.

Oliver can be found in the northeast corner of the Shadow Cursed Lands in a ruined house. When you first meet the boy in BG3, it's immediately apparent that he's not real and that something has gone wrong. The boy doesn't seem to notice, however, and just wants someone to play with. More specifically, Oliver wants you to play hide-and-seek with him.
Once you agree to play hide-and-seek with Oliver, the rules are simple: find him and you win. He will first hide after you agree to play with him. Luckily for players, his hiding spot isn’t all that great; you can head outside to the west and find him sitting behind the broken-down wagon with three crates inside, as seen below.
After finding Oliver a second time, he will say that he wants to hide again. If you agree this time, he will hide on the left side of the house, on the north side. However, during this part, his shadow parents will try to detect you.
