As Baldur's Gate 3 celebrates its first anniversary, it's becoming increasingly clear that the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired RPG has already cemented its place among the elite of modern (and classic) gaming.
Larian Just Revealed Baldur's Gate 3's NEW Player Stats and They're CRAZY
Baldur's Gate 3 took the gaming world by storm after Larian Studios finally pulled its role-playing masterpiece out of early access. The highly anticipated sequel immediately broke records and went on to win a slew of dragon prizes and trophies come awards season. And all that hype has barely died down 12 months later.
While the mainstream discourse has moved on to Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Marvel Rivals in recent months, BG3 hasn’t taken a step back; on the eve of its one-year anniversary, Larian’s blockbuster title still rakes in around 100,000 players at any given time. At the time of writing, 65,000 gamers were loaded into Faerûn, according to Steam’s playlists, and that had peaked at 112,454 earlier today.
Even more impressive, that six-figure haul only applies to those who purchased the RPG from Valve's store. The Baldur's Gate sequel is also available on PlayStation 5 and various Xbox consoles. Neither company is sharing play stats.
