Baldur Gate 3 has a long and engaging storyline that is divided into 3 Acts. Each of these Acts takes place in different locations with their own side quests and other things to explore. They are worth completing because you can get valuable rewards for them. But the only thing that can be tricky here is that in each Act of BG3 there are a number of Points of No Return.
Baldur's Gate 3 – 10 IMPORTANT Things to Do Early in Act 1 – Best Weapon, Secret, and More!
These are the points from which you cannot return to the locations of the previous Act. For some players, this can be disconcerting, as they will miss the chance to get to know the story better through side quests and NPCs. Therefore, we will highlight each point of No Return in Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3 of Baldur's Gate 3.
When you reach an event or quest that will lock you out of an Act, the game will warn you about it. If you continue after that, all the important NPCs will be transferred and you will move on to the next Act, as this is necessary for the story. However, if you go back after this notification, you can still go back and explore the remaining part.
In Act 1, the Point of No Return is when you reach the Shadow Lands after going through the Underdark of Mountain Pass. Once you choose your path to the Moonrise Towers, you will be notified that there is still some unfinished business in Act 1. So it is up to you whether you want to go to Act 2 or stay in Act 1 to complete all the side quests.
