As you travel through the Underdark of Baldur's Gate 3, you will eventually encounter Sovereign Spaw, the ruler of the Myconids, and Sovereign Glut, a ruler with no one to rule over. You must choose between these two characters and side with one of them.
Should You Side With Sovereign Glut or Spaw? | Baldur's Gate 3 | GLUT OR SPAW – Rewards and Outcomes
Both NPCs offer choices and consequences depending on your decisions. You should seriously consider these choices, as you won’t get the chance to return to the Underdark as you get closer to Moonrise Tower and Act Two. Make sure you decide to work with one of them before you leave. But which of the two is the better choice? Should you choose Sovereign Glut or Sovereign Spaw in Baldur’s Gate 3?
You first meet Sovereign Spaw when you enter the Myconid Circle in the Underdark in Baldur's Gate 3. Spaw tells you that his circle needs protection from the Duergars that are outside the village. You can later take their boat to go to the next location.
If you accept the quest, you can leave the village and take them out, or perhaps you have already done so and can receive a reward for your efforts. However, after your first encounter, Sovereign Glut appears and tells his story of how the Duergars destroyed his circle, and the current circle does not welcome him.
