In Baldur's Gate 3, if you manage to obtain a working Moonlantern in the Shadow Cursed Lands, you will eventually be faced with the choice of freeing the Pixie trapped inside. Since the lanterns are almost essential to escaping the Shadow Curse, you may find yourself in conflict.
What happens if you free the Pixie in Baldur's Gate 3?
The Pixie powers the protective light, and tempts you to hold it hostage to facilitate your journey. If you're unsure whether or not to free the Pixie in Baldur's Gate 3, here's what you need to know.
You must free the Pixie from the Moonlantern in Baldur's Gate 3. Freeing the Pixie will grant you the Pixie's Blessing. This buff acts as a much better, permanent version of the Moonlantern, making you immune to the effects of the Shadow Curse.
The Pixie's Blessing applies to the entire party, meaning you can travel through the Shadow Cursed lands without any problems. While torches and the Moonlantern are severely restricted, the Pixie's gift is by far the most powerful tool in avoiding the Shadow Curse. Instead of going out of your way to repair your broken Moonlanterns, go for the Pixie's Blessing.
