Baldur's Gate 3 was undoubtedly one of the best games of the 21st century, but the game received so many awards that the developer had trouble collecting them all.
Baldur's Gate 3 director says game won so many awards it influenced development
Swen Vincke, CEO of Larian Studios, revealed that Baldur's Gate 3 had won so many awards that the developer had to send carefully selected teams to collect the prizes. This also affected Larian's work on other games.
"It affects development – there are a lot of them [awards]. It's a real problem," Vincke told Edge, via GamesRadar on July 14. He added that when Larian realized its latest hit would continue to win, it divided its staff into specific teams that would "rotate" to attend events and collect the awards.
While Vincke acknowledged how great it is that Baldur's Gate 3 has won so many awards and that he is grateful for it, he wishes they had happened at the same time. "It's great that you have a moment of celebration […] we still have award shows that we're going to do. […] it would be cool if everyone agreed to do it all at once," Vincke continued.
