The iPad is a hugely popular device, but every now and then you can run into problems with it. However, a problem with your iPad doesn’t necessarily mean you have to visit your nearest Apple Store or call tech support. You can solve most iPad problems by following a few troubleshooting tips.
Basic iPad Troubleshooting Tips
When an iPad has a problem, there can be a few root causes. Apps can interfere with each other or with the iPad’s operating system. These interferences can affect the device’s resource management or corrupt parts of its memory. The tablet can also have network issues that cause problems connecting to the internet.
Follow these troubleshooting steps to determine and resolve the problem with your iPad.
Close apps. iPad keeps apps open, most of them in a suspended state, even when you’re not using them. So if you notice that they’re running slowly, you can fix the problem by closing resource-hungry programs. Open the App Switcher by double-clicking the Home button, dragging a finger from the bottom to the middle of the screen, or using a multitasking gesture by drawing four or five fingers together on the screen. Close apps by dragging their windows up and off the screen.
