Apex Legends continues to face significant backlash from the community, despite developer Respawn Entertainment's decision to roll back controversial changes to the Battle Pass that generated so much negative feedback.

The battle pass is clearly not the only thing fans are unhappy about. Players have long complained about Apex Legends’ anti-cheat and servers, and now they’re unhappy about the lackluster new content.

The game currently has an "Overwhelmingly Negative" review score on Steam, with only six percent of recent reviews being positive. This dissatisfaction has led to one of the largest player drop-offs the game has ever seen, dropping Apex Legends to ninth place on the Steam Charts.

The controversy began with the release of Season 22, which introduced a new dual battle pass system that many players found unsatisfactory. The battle pass, a key feature for many players looking to improve their cosmetic collection, featured a Premium Plus tier. Initially, this new tier could only be purchased with real-world money, rather than the in-game premium currency Apex Coins.
