Although battles play a minor role in city building, they are an important part of Manor Lords. To lead your army to victory, you will need to learn the best battle formations and strategies in Manor Lords.
The COMPLETE Guide to Manor Lords Battles
Manor Lords’ battles aren’t as complex as Total War or other real-time strategy, but they still require you to use the right formations to outsmart your opponent. I’m a fan of archers (although they’re not as powerful as I’d like), but if you don’t use them like I do, battle formation becomes much less important.
If you don’t use archers, your battle tactics will be simpler, at least until new units arrive. In that case, place faster units like spearmen on your wings so they can catch the opponent’s archers faster. Even if the enemy doesn’t have any ranged units, fast units on the wings will be able to flank the enemy better. The center is reserved for units with heavy armor that can defend their territory, especially when raiders attack. That said, it’s always a good idea to have archers for more diverse strategies.
Archers are perfect for a defensive formation in Manor Lords, as they are mobile and force enemies to take action against them. My default method in combat is a defensive approach, unless the enemy has more archers than I do. In that case, I am the one who has to chase them.
