The Battle Mage build in Elden Ring is primarily a magical damage build, with one small caveat. Unlike regular backline casters, Battle Mages are frontline warriors who soak up some damage while firing off Sorceries at close to medium range. There are Faith variants of this build that feature Strength as a secondary stat, but our Battle Mage build of choice focuses almost entirely on Intelligence.
Unlike the Spellblade build, Battle Mages do not combine physical damage weapons with spell casting, removing the need to level up other stats like Dexterity.
