Fallout 76 is a multiplayer experience set in the irradiated Appalachian Mountains, where you can explore the wasteland and battle enemies alongside your friends. Whether you choose to adventure with other players or brave the wasteland alone, you should always have the best build available for your play style.

Like other Fallout games, 76 uses the SPECIAL system, where you can invest points in various attributes to level up parts of your character. The seven attributes you can level up are Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck, but you can only spend a total of 56 points when leveling.

On top of these attribute points, you can also invest and level up various cards that give you some ridiculously powerful bonuses at max level. Overall, these cards give you a lot of different ways to play the game, but the community has lovingly created six archetypes that can each have a few core cards.

A melee fighter focuses on using their fists, swords, daggers, or other melee weapons to deal the majority of their damage. Investing in this build will see your character rush headlong into dangerous situations, so it's no surprise that most of your SPECIAL attributes are invested in the Strength and Endurance categories.
