Bloomburrow, with its surprising power level, is expected to shake things up in the Commander format. Don’t be fooled by the cuteness of these anthropomorphic animals; these creatures can punch above their weight. The set introduces new cards that are perfect for Commander play and will redefine deckbuilding priorities for players.

Normally, I would have made a list of cards exclusively from the four Commander decks. But the Bloomburrow main set treats Commander players like few main sets before it. From legendary lands to bulky badgers, Bloomburrow brings the heat to Commander. Without further ado, let’s get started!
This two-mana frog wizard can easily become a threat on the board, but Pollywog Prodigy's strength comes from his passive ability that allows his controller to effortlessly draw tons of cards. Punishing opponents for playing non-creature spells is so strong in a multiplayer format that it should be illegal. Just ask anyone who's ever played Esper Sentinel or Rhystic Study. You could argue that Blue already has a lot of options for drawing cards, and Pollywog Prodigy might feel a bit redundant. But then again, drawing tons of cards is awesome!
Storm players, rejoice! The exponentially multiplying otter wizard has arrived! Stormsplitter creates a token of itself every time you cast an instant or sorcery, meaning you’ll have 16 otters by the time you cast your fourth spell, 32 with your fifth spell, 64 with your sixth spell, and so on. For most decks, this might sound like a daunting task. But as Storm players know, it’s simply a matter of how quickly you can build up enough mana to pull it off. Add Impact Tremors to the deck, and you don’t even have to bother attacking with your army of otter wizards.
