The futuristic fortress is unforgiving and inhabited by various monsters. Without using the best party formation for Proving Grounds in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, you won't get far.
The Proving Grounds Quest Guide in Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes
Your formation has three main groups: front, rear, and support. The front units are usually tanks and damage dealers, while the rear units are mostly healing, checking status alignments, and attacking from a distance. Below is the formation that I found to be the best for Proving Grounds in my playtime.
You can place three units in the front line, and their placement is important. The middle unit usually takes the most damage, so the front middle slot goes to Yuthus. This shield-carrying guy is a great tank unit, but he can also jump in and protect other frontliners from attacks.
The side slots are reserved for the two mandatory characters for this part of the game. The top slot goes to our protagonist, Nowa. He is a versatile character, but his greatest quality is his ability to combine powers with other characters. The other side slot goes to Garoo, a humanoid kangaroo with a giant sword and an Australian accent. He is a solid, damaging unit, similar to Garr.
