While the Final Fantasy series may have a closed party structure these days, that wasn't the case in the original game. Final Fantasy 1 Pixel Remaster lets players choose the names and classes of the four members of their party, and here's a look at some of the best teams to choose from.
Final Fantasy 1 Pixel Remaster: A Beginner's Guide!
By default, the game will guide players to choose a Warrior, Thief, Black Mage, and White Mage. That’s a solid combo and more than enough to complete the game. However, there are some adjustments that can be made depending on playstyle, and they’re all doable.
If you’re a fan of dishing out physical damage, you can swap out one of the mages for a monk. FF1 isn’t the most challenging game in the series by far, and is quite short by modern standards, so there’s plenty of room for experimentation. Let’s go over a few potential teams you can use.
Typically you'll want to keep at least one mage around for a playthrough, as mage can get really strong later in the team and starts out strong. None of the teams mentioned are bringing a Thief, and that's because it's on the weak side early in the game, which isn't always fun for a first playthrough.
