Black Myth Wukong has broken all records and became one of the most played games on Steam on its first day of release. Although the game has only been out for a few days, you can already find a number of performance enhancing mods developed by the modding community; here are a few good examples.
Black Myth Wukong – How to get the BEST early skill build and the MOST POWERFUL armor – Complete Sparks Guide!
Black Myth Wukong launched in a polished state, and the game runs fairly smoothly on most devices. However, some players have reported crashes, lags, and other issues, which is to be expected from a new release. The BMWK – SPF mod created by xowny has helped players improve performance and fix stuttering without degrading visual fidelity much.
Once you have downloaded and extracted the files, place them in the b1/Content/Paks/~mods folder in the game installation directory. To find the game files on Steam, right-click on Black Myth Wukong in the Library, go to Manage and click on Browse Local Files. Now navigate to b1/Content/Paks. If you don't have any mods installed yet, create a new folder and name it ⁓mods (see image above). Finally, copy the pakchunk99-Mods_CustomMod_P.pak file from the BMWK – SPF mod folder and paste it into the ⁓mods folder.
Another way to improve performance is to set the game's priority to high in the registry editor. Luckily, there's a simple mod that will do this for you. Download the Anti-Stutter – High CPU Priority mod from the NexusMods website. Run the Install BMW High CPU Priority.reg file to enable high CPU priority for Black Myth Wukong. If you experience any issues afterward, simply run Uninstall BMW High CPU Priority.reg from the same download folder to revert the changes.
