Black Ops 6 is picking up steam with Treyarch's constant release of teasers, hints and videos, but some information isn't so official. Black Ops 6 leaks have been swirling, detailing a variety of weapons including the SA87 (SA80 to all you Brits) and the LW3 Tundra (L96A1 to my Black Ops 1 friends).
New Wonder Weapon: 'Beam Smasher' (Black Ops 6)
User FIreBoyi compiled the weapon leaks on Reddit after files were found in CoD HQ, detailing the weapon and its real-world counterpart's name, along with an accompanying image. Some of the weapons shown are a little more on-the-nose than others. The M16, for example, is also commonly known as the M16A2, while the LW3 Tundra is a bit more of a mouthful than the L96A1. But remember: these leaks are unconfirmed, so take everything we have here with a grain of salt.
The weapons that most catch my eye are the heavy reliance on the Kastovia weapons platform which hints at the Iraq War, Saddam Hussein's regime, and even Operation Desert Storm; the AK (Kastovia) being the most prominent weapon on that side of the world after all. There's also the M4 and M16 (as expected for a Call of Duty set in relatively modern times), and a reliance on Tempus Armaments which hints at America's lead during the 2003 Gulf War.
Our second group of weapons consists of the LW3 Tundra (L96A1), my favorite sniper from all of the CoD games. I remember using this beast to take heads off shoulders in Black Ops 1 , and I sincerely hope that Treyarch is committed to bringing this monster back. The SA87 is the trusty assault rifle used by the British Armed Forces and, if information is correct, it will make its first debut in Call of Duty. Black Ops 1 players will also recognize the Olympia, but it’s exciting to note that the vast majority of the weapons here are brand new to the franchise.
