More often than not, you come across an arcade game that reminds you of the countless hours you spent as a child, fixated on a single title. Well, Blazing Chrome is that with a little something extra.
Blazing Chrome Switch Review – Do you LIKE Run 'n' Gun?
Blazing Chrome may seem like Contra, but it does more than the original Contra and its sequels. It keeps things fresh. Yes, the gameplay and plot seem completely lifted, but once you get past those scenarios, it delivers a great performance.
You play as Marvra, a human resistance soldier, think Sarah Connor but at level 11 or as Doyle, think Robocop but with a better personality. These two characters are definitely on a mission from which there is no return, and yet these two must tackle a labyrinth of villains to wipe evil off this planet.
The mechanics of the game are pretty simple: when you see the bad guys, you shoot them, but there’s so much more to this game than meets the eye. The levels are designed to convey progression, and you’ll constantly find new things in the background, usually the last remnants of today’s world, but it’s fun to see someone out there avenging the destruction.
