Bilibili Gaming ADC Zhao "Elk" Jia-Hao returned to streaming League of Legends today for the first time since he and his team were defeated at Chengdu's Mid-Season Invitational last week. He had one goal in mind for the stream: for viewers to bash him for his loss.

Korea's Gen.G triumphed over the hometown heroes on May 20, halting BLG's lower bracket run at the last minute. Each blames himself and his performance so much for this that he opened himself up to a brutal community via his stream on May 24. "I started the stream today, so you guys can directly bash me all you want," he said, according to Chinese esports site HUPU Esports, adding that he "deserved to be criticized" for the defeat.
During the stream, Elk joked along in his chat and seemed to take the hate in stride. He said he’d let the trolls and haters have their say this week, since he and the team will be running a sponsored stream next week. He also debunked rumors that he threw up during the Grand Finals, but admitted that he was sick for most of the event, as were several players.
League analyst and journalist Emily Rand pointed out that Elk also took on the burden of press questioning at MSI. "The press noted that Elk answered almost all of the difficult questions that were unanswered so that his teammates could process/not have to answer them," she said on X/Twitter today. The BLG bot laner took much of the blame for the 3-1 loss to the MSI champions and hoped that fans let off enough steam today not to affect the flow of sponsors next week.
