Last year, the ability to blur your Skype background was added to the desktop version of Skype, but now iOS users can enjoy the same luxury.
How to Blur Your Background During Skype Video Calls (New Feature!)
How it works: As Microsoft explained when it first introduced the feature, it’s similar to the blur feature used in Microsoft Teams, and uses artificial intelligence to determine what’s blurry. It can detect your hair, hands, and arms to help keep you in better focus, but don’t expect it to be impossible for others to see what’s behind you.
How to blur: This Skype support page explains that during your video call, simply tap the More option and then toggle on Blur my background. If you don’t see the Blur option, make sure you’re using the latest version of Skype for iOS.
What about Android? Unfortunately, there is no news yet on if/when blurring will come to Skype for Android.
