Reddit user ar25nan recently discovered the addition in Apple's new 6.1. 15 Boot Camp update, which allows MacBooks running Windows to take advantage of official support for Windows Precision Touchpad features, including three- and four-finger gestures. More common settings like one-tap clicking and bottom-right right-click are also included.
MacBook users who prefer Windows have long had to rely on third-party (i.e., not official from Microsoft) drivers to provide similar functionality. Official device drivers should reduce the chance of potential conflicts between the trackpad hardware and the computer's operating system, compared to third-party programs.
While many other Reddit users in ar25nan's thread claim that the unofficial drivers they've been using so far work fine, AppleGuySL found the official driver to be an improvement, writing, "It's much better than the Mac Precision Touchpad driver from GitHub…"
