How to boot a laptop from an external CD/DVD/BD (Dell Latitude E5550, Windows 10)

This process usually takes about five minutes:

Change the boot order in BIOS so that the CD, DVD, or Blu-ray drive is listed first. Some computers are already configured this way, but many are not.

If the optical drive is not first in the boot order, your PC will boot 'normally' (i.e. from your hard drive) without even looking at what's in the disc drive.
