As August draws to a close, two new films hit theaters: the reboot of Lionsgate’s “The Crow” and Amazon MGM’s thriller “Blink Twice.” But the summer box office highs are long gone.
"The Crow," starring Bill Skarsgard and FKA Twigs, grossed $650,000 in previews at the box office; while "Blink Twice," directed by Zoe Kravitz and starring Channing Tatum, grossed $820,000.
Neither film is expected to crack the top three at the box office this weekend. “Deadpool & Wolverine,” “Alien: Romulus” and “It Ends With Us,” a trio of holdover hits, are expected to outpace the new releases.
After overtaking the R-rated Marvel blockbuster last week, Fede Alvarez’s “Alien: Romulus” is on track to gross between $16 million and $19 million in its second film.
