Brave's independent search engine is finally good
When you think of a search engine, you probably think of Google, but there are many privacy concerns when using the site. As an alternative, Brave Search recently launched its privacy-focused search engine in beta as a way to search the web without being tracked.
After using Brave Search for a weekend, I can see its value for simpler searches. For more detailed or location-specific searches, however, the functionality still leaves something to be desired.
Brave says it won’t collect your IP addresses or search data. The search engine has built its own search index without relying on other providers, so it doesn’t track or profile users to show them targeted ads or use your personal data against you.
