Brother’s MFC-L6800DW is an imposing, slate-gray tower that looks like either a monstrous home printer or a miniature office copier, depending on your perspective. This duality between home and professional informs every aspect of the design, offering the sleek aesthetics and impressive features you’d expect from a professional printer, but at a scale and price that’s entirely feasible for a serious home office or small business.

We put the MFC-L6800DW through its paces, putting it through its paces printing and scanning a variety of media to see where it excelled and where Brother had to make cuts to achieve its relatively accessible price point. Ultimately, we were pleased to find a number of clever, targeted features that make this an ideal all-in-one for high-volume printing and scanning.

The design of the MFC-L6800DW is sleek and understated. Relatively tall and blocky, it resembles the form factor of a typical office printer/copier, but this isn’t your traditional light grey or beige piece of office equipment. Instead, it has a dark, slate grey finish that’s more reminiscent of The Matrix than Office Space, which gives it an air of class.
