Young Horses' next adventure promises an impressive mystery full of delicious treats, but ultimately fails to make the name for itself the story so desperately wants to be.
Weenie Hands – (Bugsnax Animatic)
I wanted to love Bugsnax. It’s one of the few launch titles for the upcoming PS5 and has been heavily promoted. But as I sat there waiting for my second Cinasnail, I realized that the gameplay loop just isn’t that compelling.
Furthermore, the mystery and intrigue of the story aren't that compelling either. Overall, my time spent exploring the different biomes of Snaktooth Island was disappointing and, to be honest, pretty mediocre.
Bugsnax is trying to draw players in from the start with the content that Young Horses has been promoting for the past few months: a beautiful fantasy island full of cute mysterious creatures. It’s an interesting idea, and I was looking forward to exploring it when I booted up the game that first evening.
