This article describes what a C file is, how to open such a file, and how to convert such a file to another file format.
Reading and writing files in C, two ways (fopen vs. open)
A file with the extension .C is a plain-text C/C++ source code file. It can either contain the source code for an entire program in the C or C++ programming language, or be referenced by other files within a C project.
Note that some programs use a lowercase c file extension to indicate a C source code file, and an uppercase C for C++, but this is not required. CPP is also used for C++ source code files.
If the file is not written in the C or C++ programming language, it could also be a script file written in Lite-C, a programming language similar to C/C++.
