Call of Duty has changed a lot over the years, but there's one thing that still irks gamers of the series.
Activision removed my video because I said Black Ops 6 leaks looked TERRIBLE
The disappointment for some players this time around comes in the form of a recent trend in CoD games: Activision is using fictional names for weapons and weapon manufacturers instead of real-world names. A July 21 Reddit thread discussed the changes, with many expressing their annoyance at the strange names.
The full-scale switch to fictional manufacturer names like Kastov, Lachmann, Lockwood, Holger, Tactique Verte, and more began in 2019’s Modern Warfare, with the AK-47 now known as Kastov. The trend appears to be continuing in Black Ops 6, according to leaks, with more fictional weapon names for weapons inspired by real-world weapons.
"Yeah," one player responded. "I really don't like the fake names. Plus, it's confusing when I talk to my teammates about weapons in the game. I tell them there's an MP5 and they're confused until they see it and think 'oh, you mean a Lachmann Sub'?"
