Rare Pokémon aren’t hard to find in Pokémon Go if you time your encounter right, though some, like Ultra Beasts, appear less often than others. So when a creature like Blacephalon decides to fall out of a wormhole, you might be wondering if you can catch a Shiny.
*BLACEPHALON NUKES EVERYTHING* in GO Battle League for Pokémon GO
Shiny Ultra Beasts are among the rarest Pokémon in the franchise, and they’re even harder to find in Pokémon Go due to the Shiny odds. Blacephalon is one such example as it has a limited availability when it appears in the game, meaning only certain players will have a chance to catch one. But if you want to try your hand at Shiny hunting for the Fireworks Pokémon, here’s everything you need to know.
Blacephalon is another Legendary-adjacent Pokémon that Niantic didn’t put in the game right away with its Shiny. It first appeared in Pokémon Go on May 23 as part of the Ultra Space Wonders event.
While Ultra Beasts aren’t technically Legendary or Mythical Pokémon, they’re about as rare as they come in Pokémon Go. Blacephalon, like most other Ultra Beasts, only spawns via five-star raids using Ultra Wormholes, and only during limited times, usually during events. It also only spawns in the Western Hemisphere, while Stakataka is exclusive to the Eastern Hemisphere.
