To prevent users from accidentally sending messages, iOS 16 offers an Undo Send feature. This feature gives users a way to retrieve what they accidentally sent to someone and prevent it from leaving a lasting impact on their personal or professional life. But what exactly does the Undo Send option do? Does it undo your message or delete it? We’ll explain that in this post.
How to Undo a Message on iPhone: iOS 16 Without Deleting It Quickly
iOS 16 brings a new option to interact with when you long-press a message in the Messages app. Called “Undo Send,” this option lets you retrieve a message you recently sent to someone. This feature can be useful if you accidentally sent a text to someone you didn’t mean to, or if the message you sent contained typos or other errors.
Undo Send only works on conversations with blue bubbles, which means you can only undo messages that were sent via iMessage and not as SMS messages. When you use Undo Send on recent messages, the recipient will have no idea that the message you sent to them and it will not appear as long as you and the recipient are using the same version of iOS.
