Ultra Beasts only appear under certain conditions in Pokémon Go, and Stakataka has even stricter requirements than some of the others. But if you do come across a Stakataka, could it be Shiny?
Who is worth powering up in Pokémon GO – Blacephalon, Stakataka, and Naganadel?
Stakataka is one of several Ultra Beasts that only appear in five-star Pokémon Go raids, limiting its availability to monthly raid rotations or special events. The Rampart Pokémon has an additional restriction: location-based exclusivity. So while you try your luck at tracking down a Stakataka raid, here’s everything you need to know about Shiny availability.
Stakataka is not available as a Shiny in Pokémon Go. This is another example of a Pokémon added to the game whose alternate color variant is not available on day one. And even if it were, the game’s Shiny odds may not be in your favor.
Stakataka was added to Pokémon Go on May 23 as part of the Ultra Space Wonders event. Blacephalon and Naganadel also made their debut during that event, with the usual mixed Shiny availability at the time. And because Stakataka is an Eastern Hemisphere-exclusive Raid encounter, that means you’ll need to ask a friend to invite you to a Remote Raid if you can’t find one yourself.
