Windows Recall, one of Microsoft’s most controversial AI features, is making a comeback this October. But the return won’t come without some changes. According to a recent optional update (KB5041865) available exclusively for Copilot+ PCs, it appears that Microsoft has added a new way to remove Windows Recall.

From the Windows Features window, you can now remove or uninstall Windows Recall. To do this, follow these steps:

If users are given the option to remove Recall from Windows, they should be less afraid and even give it a serious try. They would know that they can remove the program if they don't want it.

Previously, Recall could only be disabled or turned off on Copilot+ PCs via an opt-in feature. Windows Recall is only available on Copilot+ PCs.
