One of the most important parts of 7 Days to Die is knowing how to balance what you do during the day with what you do at night. At night the zombies become more dangerous and you might wonder if you can sleep or if you can sleep at all.
The First Hordennight – EP6 – 7 Days To Die 1.0 (The Survival Guide)
Sleeping is usually a good way to pass the time in many survival games, especially when things get more dangerous while the moon is gone. The zombies in 7 Days to Die become more aggressive, faster, and stronger while the moon is gone. Should you use this time to sleep, or is there something else you could do while the moon is gone?
I can confirm that sleeping is not an option in 7 Days to Die. While you have to maintain several other health meters on your character, such as health, stamina, and hydration, sleeping is not one of them. When night falls and you avoid the streets to stay away from zombies, it is best to work on your basics.
You can focus on different projects, such as building barricades, taking care of crafting projects, or creating food or water sources to sustain your camp. Due to the way day and night work in 7 Days to Die, it is better to save all of your crafting projects for the end of the day than to do them while the sun is shining. When the sun is high in the sky, that is the best time to venture out from your protective walls to find supplies. Zombies are slower and less aggressive during the day. Spend your time searching for resources like Murky Water during the day, and then use crafting stations like the Cooking Pot at night.
