In this article, we'll explain how to check if you can upgrade your laptop's RAM and, if possible, how to do it.
How to Upgrade RAM on Your Laptop | How
The process is similar to upgrading the RAM on your desktop computer.
The first step in upgrading your laptop’s memory is to find out if you can do it. Checking the bottom of your notebook for a special memory access panel is a great first step. While not strictly necessary, if you have one, your laptop should be upgradeable.
You can also use the Crucial System Advisor tool to determine whether or not your memory is removable (i.e., whether it’s soldered to the motherboard and can’t be replaced). Enter your laptop’s manufacturer and model number. If it says your memory is removable and recommends specific modules, you’re in luck: you can upgrade your laptop’s RAM.
