The recent release of Windows 11 brought with it a ton of changes, and one of them is how the operating system generally handles Bluetooth profiles. This has improved compatibility with Airpods, allowing you to now use your microphone and control playback with gestures right out of the box.
How to Fix Bluetooth Device Not Working Issue on Windows 11
Unfortunately, the connection between the two is as troublesome as ever and if you’ve been experiencing connection issues on Windows 11, you’re not alone. Here’s everything you need to know about how to fix Airpods connection issues on Windows 11.
Windows 11 now automatically manages your Airpods profiles out of the box. This means that when you connect your Airpods to your Windows 11 PC, they will no longer be shown with two headset profiles; one for stereo audio, and one for mono audio with a microphone. These profiles are no longer available in every app, and the OS appears to intelligently switch between them depending on your needs and requirements.
The switching process is still in the testing phase, to say the least, with occasional glitches when you need to switch between profiles the most. A good example of this is how the Airpods are used and appear when making video calls on your PC. In our case, the earbuds would switch to Mono Audio for microphone use and simply refuse to switch back to Stereo audio. The only solution for this was to reconnect, put the earbuds back in the case and take them out a few seconds later, or just keep using Mono Audio on video calls.
