Google is rolling out a new privacy feature to Chrome on Android devices that will protect users’ sensitive information while sharing and recording their screens. This upcoming functionality is intended to hide credit card information, passwords, and other confidential data when users are sharing or recording their screens.

The feature was first spotted by BleepingComputer and can be tested using the Chrome flag "Hide sensitive content during screen sharing, screen recording, and similar actions" in Chrome Canary for Android.

If this flag is enabled, sensitive form fields on web pages will be hidden by redacting the entire content area during screen sharing or recording activities.

Currently, Chrome allows screenshots of regular tabs, potentially exposing users’ private information. The new feature addresses this privacy issue by automatically hiding sensitive data.
